“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Are People Really This Stupid? Issue No. 28 - I'm Pregnant With My Dad's Baby

This just boggles my mind.

I know I've been gone for a month, but the stupidity still lingers on...  I didn't know whether to post this as part of my "What A Hot Mess" series, or this one.  I guess they're both one and the same.  Well... not all the time.

Seriously?  You hypocrites, haters (or whatever you call yourself these days) don't want Ryan and I to get married, but this is somehow okay?  Oh, but it happened in the Bible all the time, so it's okay.  Or is that the part where you can have multiple wives?

The Cities Where A Paycheck Stretches The Furthest

So now you can add the city of Houston to another list of accomplishments.
Not only has the fourth largest city in the nation been previously ranked the #1 fastest growing city in North America - it's #1 in job growth, #1 in manufacturing, #1 in wage growth, and the #1 world's fastest growing metro area.   And if that isn't enough for you, it can now call itself the #1 best city to live in.

According to Forbes Magazine, Houstonions can stretch their paychecks much further than any other city in the country.  Houston has the lowest cost of living when it comes to utilities, transportation, consumer pricing, and most importantly housing costs; Buying a house in Houston has never been more affordable.

Check out the article here, and be proud of our city.  Don't worry Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth - you rank 5th and 8th respectively.

Thank you, Mayor Annise Parker, for sharing the news on Facebook yesterday!
