“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

I Quote That - Apologizing

Can "Sarah Palin Battle Hymn" Reach No. 1 on the Billboard 100?

I am very proud to be an american despite stuff like this, because although I disagree with these two, I'm happy they have the right to speak their minds.

Unfortunately people like Sarah Palin are harming our country more than helping it by rallying their followers to hate and fight the other side rather than work out our differences for the better of the country.

Then again, what the hell am I thinking?  I just vomited my dinner out of my nose.  Just Kidding.

Mammoth to Make a Gigantic Return by 2015

So it's possible the Mighty Mammoth may roam the earth once again.  At least according to a team of scientists from Russia, Japan and the United States.  And they plan to do it by 2015!

The recipe calls for:

A mammoth carcass (preferably preserved in a Russian laboratory)
Egg cells of an African elephant

All you have to do is extract DNA from the mammoth carcass and insert it into the egg cells of an African elephant.  And presto! You have your very first Wooly Mammoth since 15,000,000,000,000 (gazillion) years ago.

New Microwave Installed!

Ryan and I had been living without a microwave since the end of November and it was driving us nuts!!!  To make matters worse, we had paid our monthly home warranty payment of $45.00 and then had to pay a $55.00 service fee for the repair man to come out and fix our microwave.  Then he ends up telling us a part needed to be ordered.  Here it was, January and we still hadn't received a reply, and we called them on December 3, 2010 mind you.

In either case, I called and bitched them out last week and they gave me a cash out of $182.00 for the cost of the repair and we went and bought a new microwave at SEARS.  Considering that it was a holiday yesterday, we didn't expect to have it installed until later this week, but a gentleman from SEARS came over and installed it.

I swear, I will never go a month without a microwave ever again!  But don't you like our new over the range microwave?  :-)

OMG Hilarious!

Always My Son

I posted this video on Facebook last year, and if you haven't had the chance to see it, you should.  Especially if you're a gay child coming out to your family, a gay parent learning about your child, a teacher, a counselor, a pastor, the list goes on.  This video will bring you to tears as it did for Ryan and myself, as we saw ourselves in this boy growing up in our households.  Always remember there is someone in the world who loves you! Don't use suicide as your last resort.

"Growing up gay was never easy. I knew from an early age how different I was. Other boys my age wanted to play with Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers. But I loved the Little Mermaid and Barbie dolls. These differences didn’t escape the notice of my parents. They responded in different ways, but I always knew they loved me, even though I knew my father didn’t always like who I was." -  EJ (the son)

"I thought to myself inside that everything I've ever been taught that it's an abomination and yes, he's going to hell, but I also quicky thought.... my son, he's a beautiful kid, he's compassionate, he's warm, he cares for people, he's respectful, he's kind. How? If we have such a loving God, How could God condemn my son to hell?" - EJ's Dad

Excerpts from President Obama's Eulogy to Tuscon, Arizona Shooting Victims

I had posted this typography I made last week on Facebook after the eulogy given by President Obama for the Tuscon shooting victims and their families.  I felt compelled to post it on my daily blog as part of my collection of memories. Click on image for a more legible view.

Anne Hathaway Picked to Play Kurt's Gay Aunt on Glee!

It's been finalized!  Anne Hathaway will be playing Kurt's gay aunt on Glee!

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy tells People at the awards show, "We just finalized a deal with Anne Hathaway tonight to come onto the show. She's already created her role. She wants to play the lesbian aunt of Chris Colfer. Because everyone needs a lesbian aunt."
